Fast forward to 2016 and after 5 years off Dance to the Radio is reborn with the same remit of developing new artists, and a more eclectic genre palette that covers indie, alternative, shoegaze, electronic and pop. Over the following years the label will develop artists internationally to sell-out tours in the UK, EU and US along with 100's of millions of streams, multiple radio playlists and frequent editorial support at streaming services. The Pigeon Detectives will return with their biggest album success in 13 years, and the label will host stages at events such as Leeds Festival, Live at Leeds, The Great Escape and South By Southwest in Austin, Texas.
One of the biggest successes on Dance to the Radio is that of Irish artist Far Caspian, aka Joel Johnston: a multi-talented producer-songwriter and visual creative. As a result of his self-produced EPs on the label reaching millions of listeners across the world 'Tiny Library Records' was formed. Tiny Library is an artist-curated label A&R'd by Joel from his Leeds studio and run by Dance to the Radio.
In 2020 following the huge growth of Slam Dunk Festival into the UK's biggest Independent Rock Festival, it's record label 'Slam Dunk Records' was relanched, once again under stewardship of Dance to the Radio and featuring emerging and established rock acts as well as limited run vinyl releases by huge acts such as Sum41, The Used, Bowling for Soup, Dropkick Murphys and many more.
As an artist-friendly label that looks to add value in partnership with creative, unique and self-driven artists Dance to the Radio has always run an artist management arm. Formally titled as Futuresound Artist Management in recent years, the management company assists it's artists through all areas of their career whether it be on a path with Dance to the Radio labels or through third party partners and labels.
Dance to the Radio, Tiny Library Records, Slam Dunk Records, and Futuresound Artist Management are all part of the artist services arm of Futuresound Group; one of the UK's longest running independent live music companies, and home to numerous venues and festivals including Live at Leeds and Slam Dunk Festival. In addition to this Futuresound Group owns the most established vinyl pressing plant in the North of the UK; Press On Vinyl which works closely with all our labels.
